While we deeply respect that heritage, our vision for Inis Aran was never to recreate the past. Instead, we wanted to explore how those values could be expressed through contemporary design for modern living.

Our inspiration comes from the landscapes that surround us. The changing colours of the Irish coastline, the texture of stone and sea, shifting skies and rugged natural beauty all influence the palettes and materials we choose. These elements create a sense of quiet confidence that sits at the heart of every collection.

From the beginning, our goal has been to design knitwear that feels relevant today while remaining enduring enough to be worn and enjoyed for years to come. Every Inis Aran collection begins in-house. We carefully develop each style, selecting yarns not only for their appearance but also for their comfort, performance and longevity. Merino wool, lambswool and other premium natural fibres are chosen for their ability to create garments that feel as good as they look.

Our approach is deliberately considered. We release carefully curated collections in limited quantities, allowing us to focus on quality, design integrity and attention to detail. This ensures that every piece remains distinctive and true to the vision that inspired it.
